Imagine a game show where you actually win by being the last man standing. There you are in a gritty environment and you have to use what you find around you to eliminate your enemies all for points based on how gruesome you accomplish your tasks. Welcome to the game Death Watch and the setting of the Wii's new game, MadWorld. Yes, we said Wii. It looks like Nintendo is going brutal for once, and brutal may even be too tame of a word.

In the comic book styled game, you play as Jack. Jack has been caught up in one of the most disturbing game shows of all time. In a desperate attempt to survive—and come out of this with a bit more cash in your pocket—you must kill. Slam a head through a street sign, drop heavy objects onto opponent's bodies, rev your chainsaw and start carving—you choose.

Now before you go informing your local senator of the next Manhunt, the graphics are in no way realistic. With their black and white tone and humorous sound effect onomatopoeias, the gritty, mean, and all-to-real feeling is taken back. The game is filled with ridiculous mini games and hilarious commentary by the announcers of the game show.

Jack's moves are mostly performed by the buttons on your Wii remote, however there are some moves that you'll need the nunchuk to help you complete. You can also use the many nearby hazards, such as that spiked wall in the corner or the brick wall covered in pipes to achieve your bloody and murderous goals. Since you are almost always outnumbered, you'll have to get creative if you want to survive. But if creativity just isn't your thing, you can always resort to your trusty chainsaw to handle the job.

This may still sound a bit too gruesome for little Billy, but the developers at Platinum Games have had lots of experience making stylish games with subtle humor. Having the producer of Okami and Viewtiful Joe on their team doesn't hurt either. Atsushi Inaba has done a great job of making this game a fun, although somewhat disturbing, game filled with humor and ridiculousness to keep it away from realism. We can see this game causing some controversy, though we hope the fun nature of the game keeps people enjoying themselves instead of protesting in the streets when the game is released this spring.
