Gaming's largest spectacle was even bigger this year, as the ESA has announced that 45,600 people attended this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. Not coincidentally, the survey was conducted by simply counting the number of people waiting in line to play the 3DS, because everyone in the show endured that hardship at least once.
The show welcomed 4,000 more attendees than last year's event, creating roughly 57,000 more gallons of nerd sweat and 8.7 times the number of rage over slow-moving swag hunters who keep getting in your way while you're trying to navigate a packed convention hall to get to your next appointment. Seriously people, some of us are trying to work.
The ESA also announced that next year's show will run June 7-9, so go ahead and book your flight and hotel rooms now for big savings! Hopefully the show won't grow too much larger, as a major downfall of the old E3 was simply allowing it to grow too large and unwieldy. The show could actually stand to be smaller by about 10,000 attendees, but good luck convincing anyone to go that route. Thus we soldier on, fighting the crowds and cursing the gaming gods for our ill fortune.
