Here's a word of advice to all you would-be thieves out there – if you steal an Xbox and decide to play around with it, don't forget to turn off the console's auto sign-in feature. Otherwise you might end up like our friend Jeremiah Gilliam.

Loring Ave. Burglary 048.jpg

Achievement Unlocked

After a recent burglary, Gilliam decided to use his newly acquired Xbox 360 and indulge in some online play. Little did he know that the very same person he had stolen the console from was trying to access his profile from another 360. When the victim was notified that he was already online, he immediately informed his parents and the local authorities were contacted.

Using the IP Address to track Gilliam's whereabouts, police were stunned at the treasure trove of stolen goods they discovered:

"At the house, we found Xboxes, PlayStations, GPS units, laptops — a total of 53 items, including stolen credit cards."

Gilliam, who was already under investigation for 13 robberies of unlocked cars, has now been charged with grand larceny.  Game over.

Some things should never leave the realm of fantasy: World War III, elves, helium-breasted anime girls and most of all, anything from the Mario universe. Don't believe me? You will once you check out these frighteningly realistic Mario ornaments.

Now the Mario Kart one on the left isn't so bad…the mushroom with the wizened face and dead eyes is mildly creepy…

…but get a load of this mushroom:

Realistic_Goomba_by_Kalapusa

I dunno. Could it get any more phallic? That fleshy tone, that wrinkly skin…and did it have to have buttocks? *Shudder*

These disturbing little yuletide creations come to you from the labyrinthine mind of deviantArtist Kalapusa, who's also been known to make dog-eating plants and effigies of GTA's Niko Bellic. Wonder what Christmas is like at his house?

More and more, it's getting to be a do-it-yourself kind of world out there and that's good for those of us who dig custom-made stuff. After all, what's the good in having the same crap everyone else has, right?

DIY site Ponoko.com features some really cool stuff, not least of which are these acrylic game controller ornaments made by "digital" (AKA – Dave Rollins).

Made of acrylic, they come in white, red, yellow, black and silver and are just about the coolest ornaments you've ever seen. The set is a bargain at $25, but if you're thinking of pimpin'  this year's tree with these – think again. They're so popular, they're on backorder. Ah well, there's always next Christmas.
