Darksiders Owners Get Red Faction for Free

Publishers are constantly trying to come up with new incentives to get gamers to buy new copies of the latest releases, and THQ has apparently decided that the best method is to simply give away a free game. The company today announced that anyone who purchased a new copy of Darksiders is eligible to receive Red Faction: Guerrilla absolutely free.

Gamers can redeem their free game by pulling out the card included in their copy of Darksiders and typing in the code at the official Darksiders website. The company is asking for $5 to defray shipping costs, but that's still considerably cheaper than buying Guerrilla in stores.

In addition to the game, the code also grants access to a digital Hellbook discs featuring game art, videos and other assorted goodies.

So if you've still got your card hurry and redeem it because the promotion ends March 7. And for those of you who bought a used copy of Darksiders then shame, shame; no freebies for you!
