Batman Returns In The Brave and the BoldBy: Brad Hilderbrand, Contributing Writer |
Earlier this morning we reported that Warner Bros. had purchased a controlling share in Rocksteady, so imagine our surprise when the next Batman story that emerged had nothing to do with the studio behind Arkham Asylum! Rather, Warner has announced Batman: The Brave and the Bold for Nintendo Wii and DS. In addition to playing as the world's greatest detective, the title will feature co-op functionality, allowing a second player to take on the role of Robin, Green Lantern or Aquaman. Warner is also promising to feature "dozens" of villains from the Batman universe.
As a fun extra, the game will be cross-compatible across the Wii and DS, and those players who link the two systems will gain access to Bat-Mite, an exclusive playable character. This will then allow the player utilizing the DS version of the game to control Bat-Mite in co-op mode across all the levels in the Wii game. How's that for synergy?
The title is based on the popular Batman: The Animated Series, so hopefully Warner Bros. will hue closely to the source material and keep the same animation style and voice actors around for the game. After all, if the cartoon has taught us anything it's that, sorry Heath Ledger, no one does The Joker better than Mark Hamill.
