Along with the announcement of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, comes a surprising twist to the game's cover. Tiger Woods is not alone on it.
The cover for the box has 20 year-old PGA Tour Rookie Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland, swinging next to Mr. Woods. The publisher Electronic Arts only said that the pairing was apart of the game's Ryder Cup focus and nothing more. Which isn't a lie; the game allows players to select either U.S. or European teams to battle it out in the tournament's many events.
But around the web, many have speculated that this might be a slight distancing of EA from Tiger Woods, in light of his recent sex-scandals which have turned the golfer's image up-side-down. Notably, many of Wood's advertisers have either furthered themselves or cut ties off completely from the golfer.
This might not be one of those cases, but rather just a pure coincidence. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 is out June 8th for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii.
