Skate 3 was just announced by Electronic Arts today, surprisingly in the same year which recently saw the release of Skate 2 back in January.

More new mulit-player modes, along with an added co-op mode that will let friends help advanced each others' careers together will be at the center to Skate 3. The story mode included also has players building a skate crew to rival against other skate crews in some skate war thingy... Yeah just take the word from a quote from an EA press release:

"The social and community aspects of the Skate franchise are something we've always embraced, but we've never done anything to the scale you're going to see in Skate 3," senior producer Jason DeLong said. "We're giving gamers a very unique experience by providing them with the tools they need to build their ultimate team or create a team comprised entirely of their online friends."

For those of us who need a deeper history lesson, Skate 2 was released this year back in January, with moderately good sales, but probably not the return that EA was expecting.

Will the new multiplayer features in Skate 3, be enough to warrant big bucks in return? Time will tell. But do expect an exclusive pre-order package for all you devoted skater bois.
