Bio: After years of working in the Bay Area game industry, I realized playing and writing about other people's games is more fun than making my own.
Current Consoles: PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, DS, Wii. Favorite Genre: Old School Adventure. Favorite Snack to eat while gaming: A strong pot of coffee. If you were a videogame character who would you be: Manny Calavera. If you had to pick a videogame sidekick to be stranded on a desert island with, who would it be? JC Denton - because if anyone could find a way off the island, it would be him. Best Videogame Accomplishment? Making it through 80 hours of Kingdom Hearts without having my hands drop off. |

Bio: Steve is an award winning game journalist in the relatively underrepresented Pacific Northwest. When not busy playing games, he likes reading and writing, and occasionally studies English at Portland State University. He hopes to someday graduate and publish his first collection of short stories, should work ever subside. Current Consoles: PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, PSP, PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast, Saturn, PS One, N64, SNES, NES, GBA. Favorite Genre: Survival horror, Adventure (any kind), JRPGs, FPSes. Favorite Snack to eat while gaming: I usually forget to eat, honestly. If you were a videogame character who would you be: I'd like to say Snake, but it's probably more like Guybrush Threepwood. If you had to pick a videogame sidekick to be stranded on a desert island with, who would it be? Agro, hands down. He doesn't talk, will get you to where you need to go and is loyal until the last. A true companion. Best Videogame Accomplishment? The first one that comes to mind is maxing out Akuma on SFA3's World Tour mode, which incidentally required beating Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma in less than ten seconds each. When I think of any others, I'll get back to you. |

Bio: For as long as I could remember, gaming has always been a part of my life – that and writing. When I'm not plopped in front of a television set and playing the latest and greatest, I find the time to come here to contribute my two cents, report on the latest news, and blog about the occasional silliness of the gaming world. Current Consoles: From the retro to the current, you name it, I got it. Favorite Genre: Survival Horror, RPG's, and Platformers. Favorite Snack to eat while gaming: Reece's Pieces. If you were a videogame character who would you be: Mega Man. If you had to pick a videogame sidekick to be stranded on a desert island with, who would it be? Clank, from the Ratchet and Clank series. He'd make island life so much easier and his accent would always keep me in a good mood. Best Videogame Accomplishment? Two – Completing Ninja Gaiden on the hardest difficulty setting and finishing Metal Slug on a single quarter. |

Bio: Like everyone else in this industry, I've been gaming since I could hold a controller. I commandeered my sister's Atari when I was about 4 and never looked back. My parents still think I'm wasting my life and should go to law school or something, but I wouldn't trade this gig for the world.
Current Consoles: PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP and DSi. Favorite Genre: RPGs, Action/Adventure, Rhythm Games and Platformers. Favorite Snack to eat while gaming: You can snack and game at the same time? I thought you needed both hands for the controller. What am I missing here? If you were a videogame character who would you be: I wish I could be cool and suave like Nathan Drake or Commander Shepard, but I'd probably end up more along the lines of Luigi or Allister If you had to pick a videogame sidekick to be stranded on a desert island with, who would it be? Probably Scraps, my Mabari War Hound from Dragon Age: Origins. Not only could he hunt and keep us safe, but he's man's best friend, and we'd probably spend a lot of time swimming or fetching an endless number of sticks. Best Videogame Accomplishment? Finishing "Bark at the Moon" and "Cowboys from Hell" on Expert on the original Guitar Hero. I literally spent months trying to get through those two songs, and when I finally conquered them both I was so proud. Those songs feel so simple now after all these years, but at the time I felt like I'd never nail them. That sense of accomplishment and pride is the same thing that's driven me to finish other tracks like "Freebird" and "Green Grass and High Tides" in other rhythm games. |
